Can't open your back

door with your camper on!

Problem Solved

You Need a Drop Tow Hitch

Many 4wd's have the spare wheel mounted right in the centre of the rear barn door or just off centre.

For many models the rear door cannot be opened when you attach a camper, caravan or boat. Its becomes a nuisance to have to unhitch the trailer all the time. In many cases trying to get the vertical pin of a  modern coupling like the AT-35 is a challenge especially on an uneven surface. The Tregg, Hyland and new DO35 type coupling can cause this problem depending on your vehicle setup.

A Drop Hitch is the solution

All 4wd off road campers and caravans need to be towed with a 500mm ride height for ground clearance in the bush. The extra height from standard trailer ride height (400mm) makes the door opening problem worse.

What Does it Do?

The newly invented Drop Tow Hitch eliminates the need to unhitch your off road camper, caravan, boat or horse float when your need to access the rear of your 4wd.

This awesome Aussie designed and manufactuerd product uses the existing jockey wheel to lower the attached camper without unhitching, the towing vehicle can now open the barn door.

This hitch comes into its own when the camper is loaded and you need to get to the jack and spare in the back of your wagon.

Some vehicles like the great new Pajero need the rear door open to get the spare off the door, you would need to unhitch and remove the tow hitch to do this task.

Safety and Design

The Drop Tow Hitch eliminates the hazardous situation of unhitching on a hill, a freeway or on an uneven road surface. You can actually get to the fridge without climbing over the back seat! If you have a cargo barrier there would no other option but to unhitch (again).

Tired of hitching up every morning when touring

When touring the drop tow hitch allows you to level up your camper or caravan for an overnight stop without unhitching. Simply remove the locking pin.

We have had excellent feedback from clients about this feature, remember, the tow hitch area for off roaders is covered in dust, dirt and mud. All this grime and dirt gets into your hitch set up each time you unhitch and re-hitch.

This feature also allows you to get the weight off your rear springs overnight.

The drop tow hitch will fit any standard 50mm x 50mm tow bar receiver.
